About

I am a father of three beautiful children, ages fourteen, eleven and eight, and have been married for nineteen years to the only woman who could possibly have put up with me for that long.  In my daily life, I work as a field service engineer and travel around repairing medical imaging equipment.  And for most of my life up until age thirty-nine, I was an Evangelical Christian.

I no longer am.

The process leading up to and immediately following to my ultimate de-conversion took several years and was fraught with many difficult emotions.  The things I have learned during this process is what this blog is all about.

I am not an expert on atheism or any other -ism; I am simply one person with one set of experiences who wishes to share his feelings and ideas about those experiences.  I may veer off that topic now and again, but ultimately my goal is to create a place where believers, non-believers and those still questioning will feel comfortable to discuss their feelings, doubts, struggles and triumphs.

I will have considered this blog a success if it remains the type of place that I would have liked to visit during my final days, weeks and months as a believer as I sought answers to all the many questions that plagued me.  And relief from the fears that enveloped me.
